Online Kilt Making
As a fellow kilt maker, I understand how challenging it can be to achieve truly exceptional results on your own.
Too often, the learning is fragmented, rushed, or missing the vital details that make all the difference.
That’s why I promise this:
You can learn kilt making without the frustration of vague or incomplete instruction.
My online courses offer clear, detailed guidance and ongoing support, so you can build confidence in your skills and create kilts the traditional way — with purpose, and precision.
If you feel the pull to learn this endangered craft— you’re in the right place.

Stitch the Basics
My “Stitch the Basics” is a MUST to practice and perfect your stitches.
It’s basically a mini kilt sample piece to make and practice on.
Remember, your kilt is an expensive garment, so let’s make the mistakes on the practice piece!
You can purchase the “Stitch the Basics” course below.

Online Course
You will get personal videos for your chosen tartan, on the pleat sizes and pleating designs on sewing your kilt to stripe or block.
This means each pleat will look the same for the best training.
You will learn through video training with weekly zooms to discuss each stage for your first kilt.
This is a 12 week course with me, guiding you through each stage with the added bonus of having 1 years access to the videos.
The cost of the course is £2000 plus materials
Tartan and materials are an added cost and vary depending on what you need and where we purchase the tartan.
I have a supply of canvas, straps, buckles threads etc you can purchase from me.
We discuss all of this in your personal zoom with me after purchasing the course.

A wee note on expectations: you won’t be a kilt maker after making one kilt. Like any true craft, it takes time, repetition, and dedication — usually around 20+ kilts — to really learn the basics. This is a journey, not a quick fix, and that’s where the magic lives.
